Spring Is Here

As you can see by this picture of Michael and the posts below, spring has really and truly arrived. After a whopper of a winter filled with me hopping around on crutches and way too many inches of snow and ice to count, we are actually enjoying life to the fullest again. You can all thank this little guy in the baseball cap for the fact that these pictures are here for you to enjoy. Soon after Michael was born and we learned that he had Down Syndrome we, of course, went in search of all the information we could find. Along with lots of reading material on the subject of Down Syndrome, we found a wonderful community of families also touched by this little extra chromosome on the internet. Through these message boards we have connected with many wonderful families from around the country and around the world. Along with participating on the message boards many of these families have blog sites such as this one. I really hope to keep the pictures coming through this blog since I've learned it's really very easy. I hope you enjoy.

Little League Opening Day

Last weekend was opening day for John's baseball team. This is his first year playing "real" little league baseball as opposed to softball through the rec center. This is known to be much more competitive and apparently he's up to it. He's an awesome player and his coach is very pleased to have him. They use a machine to pitch to the kids at this age but during practices the coach has been pitching to John himself because the machine was not challenging enough for him. A future Cleveland Indian we may have here!!!

John is holding the left hand side of the banner with the black sleeves.

Mary's prom

Two weeks ago Mary attended her friend Dan's senior prom. She looked beautiful and had a wonderful time. Dan surprised her by picking her up in his dad's shiny red Corvette!

Anna's senior prom

This past weekend was Anna's senior prom. Isn't she gorgeous! They had a fantastic time. She has been blessed with an amazing group of friends through high school. Many of them are actually going off together to the same college in the fall including Anna. Her best friend, in the green dress, will be her roomate.
